Welcome to Stonehedge Bulldogs

Welcome to STONEHEDGE BULLDOGS!

We’ve lived with dogs all our lives. Our early relationships were with those ‘mongrel types’ adopted from relatives or even neighbors.  Yet even if they weren’t pedigreed, from who knows were, they were always cared for.  In 1994, we finally got enough resources to buy our very first pure breed rottweiler, whom we named Lisa.  She was a very sweet bitch, to us and her litter and behaved mostly like a human – complete with thinking capacities which never failed to amaze us. Because of our wish to further improve Lisa’s traits, we only bred her with top studs that had highest possible honors garnered in both  Specialty or All-breed shows.  Through Lisa’s line, we produced a special female litter member in 2000 who gave us several awards including Best Female Local Born and Best of Breed in Specialty Show.  She also ran for Hall-of-Fame, which as most of you know, is the highest award for an All-Breed Category.

In 2004, Lisa passed away due to old age and we decided to move on to exploring other breeds, such as the bulldog! You may note that  bulldogs have numerous physical similarities with rottweilers so it was easy for us to fall in love with it. We purchased our first bulldog Cara.  She was like a cannonball when she first came to the house, running endlessly and stopping only to catch her breath each time.  In 2006, we successfully bred Cara.  Since we had very little experience with the breed, we only managed to raise 1 puppy out of 5 in the litter.  This truly is a challenging breed and we have decided to take our love for the breed further.

We have gone better since that time and have started exploring imported ones, with hopes to enhance our current breeding program.  Our goal is to produce bulldogs that is close to an achetype of the breed and match if not best imported stocks.  This remains a fervent wish for now and yet we look forward more to a joyful experience with our bulldogs.  We hope you have the same through this website!
